FDA approved Sculptra filler treatments are cosmetic injections that minimize the signs of aging by smoothing wrinkles and fine lines, while also restoring volume and fullness to the skin.

Sculptra Aesthetic is most commonly used on the face to restore volume and fullness to nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, cheeks and chin. Off-label uses of Sculptra include smoothing of the lines on the decolletage, adding volume and lift to the buttocks, and improving the wrinkles and skin laxity of the elbows and knees.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic material that has been used for decades in dissolvable stitches, and soft tissue implants. Because it’s a biodegradable molecule, it is easily broken down and absorbed within the body. PLLA acts as a collagen stimulator, helping to gradually restore fullness to facial wrinkles and folds. This results in a softer and more youthful appearance. Sculptra is the only facial injectable approved by the FDA to last more than two years.
